Hi Jeremy,
I'm using DFR-4 FAAST compatible receivers with a T6EX-FAAST & Umarim and
so far they are working excellently.
They are also lightweight (the one I have is 4 channels, but outputs 7 PPM
channels) cheap and widely available.
I briefly looked at telemetry, I read somewhere on't internet the issue is
the maximum baud-rate is not in fact the advertised 4800bps and it starts
dropping packets silently, but I could be wrong. There was an effort to
get APM2 mavlink running over it.
At some point I hope to use the PWM RSSI output which the modules also
provide in CPPM mode.
Cheers,
Gareth

Hi folks,
Anyone else using FrSKY 2.4GHz radio equipment with their Paparazzi
autopilots?
I have been using a DJT module in an old JR radio and the D8RSP
receiver. Their P series receivers have a "CPPM" output which is
directly compatible with LPC based Paparazzi autopilots without the need
for a seperate PPM encoder. See
http://www.frsky-rc.com/ShowProducts.asp?id=86
They offer bi-directional telemetry which can be configured for use as a
low baud rate data link and also offer a number of telemetry sensors
which could be interfaced directly with paparazzi autopilots. They
openly publish their communication protocol so there is very little
reverse engineering required for sensor integration.
Cheers
