Those statements are true, interpreted strictly.  We can't "expect
users to fix" the bugs that manifest on old versions of Android, and
we can't fix them ourselves,  And we should not feel obliged to try.

But our users often _do_ fix bugs that involve old versions of systes
that they continue to use.  Although we do not have an obligation to
help develop those fixes, it would be a gratuitous unkindness to slam
the door on accepting those fixes.
