I have found a tutorial on Python Internationalization and it shows how
to generate the files needed and how to supply them in a ./locale
directory so that they do not need to be installed on the system.  The
tutorial is here: http://wiki.wxpython.org/RecipesI18n

I'm tied up the rest of the day, but should have something tomorrow.
