I thought it's a warning only, and even this can be supressed by
fiddling with some windoze registry entry?  At least that's the
impression I've got from reading the avrfreaks thread.

Supposedly, the new protocol is better than the old one.  Maybe it's
better suited for packet-oriented connections like USB?  I didn't look
into it so far.
