This may not be the answer you were looking for, but might have an
appeal in its own way.  If you have a list of mates, how about just
eliminating the first member of the list after a certain amount of
time?  That would have the appeal of the "forgetting" having nothing
to do with the female herself, rather more along the lines of a
limitation in the male's ability to remember.  This would not be the
best solution if you wanted to have "forgetability" as some intrinsic
property of the female or the mating, but might be better if you were
interested in basing it on the male's inabilility to remember beyond a 
certain number.

And, you might want to keep the simulation design away from Jay
Leno...
