Time stamping objects?

This is probably an easy question to answer, but I've been killing myself over it: I have a model simulating Gorilla movements as related to mating and infanticide, and one of the factors is each gorilla has a "memory" of those females he's mated with. I haven't had a problem dealing with this: each gorilla has its own list which adds female objects to it whenever mating occurs. Now, how do I make them FORGET the female after a certain time? Can I time stamp the memory (using getCurrentTime() ), adding to the Female object? Or is there some way to copy the female object without pointing to the one moving around in the simulation?

Thanks!
