I'm 100% for adding a toggle/bypass plugin for OM. In the meantime, I
can suggest JackRack as an alternative. I ran into this exact same issue
several months back, before I knew about OM. JackRack has a bypass
toggle button built into the UI, but there is no assignable MIDI control
for it in the stable release. I hacked in support for this and have been
using it live ever since. But I'd really like to see this in OM sometime
soon, since it is much more flexible and cleaner.

If you're interested in using this, you can apply this patch to the
latest cvs.

It's not pretty, but it did the trick for what I needed (which was MIDI
PC input to bypass a plugin, and also save CPU cycles).
