Try /etc/init.d/networking

When I did:

# /etc/init.d/networking restart

I get this :

Running.../init.d/networking restart is deprecated because it may not enable again some interfaces...(warning).
Reconfiguring network interfaces...done.

When I did:

# /etc/init.d/networking start

I get this:

Configuring network interfaces...done.

None of these commands connected the computer to the internet.

Or otherwise:

ifdown eth0
ifup eth0

When I hit:

# ifdown eth0

I get this:

 ifdown: interface eth0 not configured

When I hit:

# ifup eth0

I get this:

Internet Systems Consortium DHCP Client 4.1.1-P1

For info, please visit https://www.isc.org/software/dhcp/
SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
eth0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device

Looks like "eth0" is not being recognized. What should I do ?

dmesg might give you some clues too, especially if missing firmware.

I have attached the output of dmesg with this mail.

I thank you.
