Ebuyer will sell you very small nettop/desktop machines with Linpus (and the 
identical machine, more expensive,
with Windows 7. [Acer Revo, E-machines] - or the barebones chassis from someone 
like Zotec, Acer to fit with
laptop hard drive and memory. They also do Zoostorm cheap desktop machines with 
no OS.

Linuxemporium will sell you Lenovo laptops and an approach to Lenovo might also 
get you a laptop with no OS.

HP's micro Proliant server represents quite a nice small desktop - and that 
will come with no OS for something like
£250 - the NAS revolution has meant a crossover with small PCs
