http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/ is where I normally start
Universities usually offer reasonable rates for students outside
term time - could try www.aston.ac.uk perhaps (and take the train
from 'New Street' to 'Birmingham International' each day) - or
consider staying near another close station (Coventry?).

Birmingham was the right opportunity to hold a UK 'kick-off' meeting to
discuss the role for FSFE in the UK and the 'next steps'.

There's already a 'Round Table' discussion set for 45 minutes on
the second day, but I don't think that's long enough, and being
widely advertised there are likely to be too many people there
to focus on detailed strategic and organisational matters.

I think we should set a date and time for a separate BOF-like meeting
- and decide quite soon so that people on this list only attending for
a single day can choose the right day!
