But the zombie still functions perfectly well to do work (as zombies
do). The idea that because something is static, it must be obsolete,
is one I've never understood.

Well, we'll see whether it works for VM. Apart from three people in my
own department (whom I support to continue using VM), and this list, I
haven't received a single message from a VM user in the 15000 messages
in my inbox covering about two years.

Do we have any idea who many users there are now?
