R (http://www.r-project.org) has both statistical and visualization features.
R can read and write HDF5 compatible with Swarm.

R also has an add-on package to talk to Windows apps via COM. With
Microsoft JDK, the jactivex program can generate Java interfaces to
COM. Result: a Swarm model can direct R to do computations, draw
graphs, etc.

Similarly,
ftp://ftp.santafe.edu/pub/swarm/users-contrib/anarchy/anl-0.0.3.tar.gz
has an example of a Swarm model in Java drawing a graph in Excel.

After the next release (and after other SDG member requests), I'm
going to be looking at what kinds of features need to be in Swarm to
facilitate practical data mining and visualization, and what can be
easily delegated (say via COM or CORBA) to other packages.
