I guess if apache started first, then tried to make a connection to mysql 
before it
was started, that might confuse it, but I'd think it would just time out and 
return
to normal.  Interesting nonetheless.

If you want to re-order the services startup with SysV (Redhat, Mandrake, SuSE?,
and others) without fear of screwing up the links use WebMin's "Bootup and
Shutdown" applet and enable the "Allow selection of individual runlevels" in the
config.  Then you can set a number that will determine the start and stop order 
for
each runlevel.  The lower the number the earlier it starts, and 2 things are
allowed to have the same number so you don't have to worry about that.
