You mean, even versions without my patches ?
If so, your problems are not related to them.

The downloads were much faster at the beginning (up to 24kB/s, with no
popular file), but it could be because I waited for a long time in many
queues, with a client that couldn't start downloading, so I had a big
(waiting) score with several eMule peers.
