Comment #125 on issue 2148 by address@hidden: vertical skylines should use stencil integrals
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2148"All new files in a separate commit" sounds rather arbitrary, and if one wants that, one can get it from git anyway. We won't reasonably be able (or willing) to check each commit in such a series for delivering a working version of LilyPond, so for the sake of bijection the commits will likely get in as one merge commit representing a series of logical commits. It would still be good if one could aim to have a series of commits that all work on their own since it will make hunting for bugs/regressions using "git bisect" easier.
For example, having "do x" and "heavily optimize doing x" as separate commits can be quite helpful for figuring out whether an optimization is responsible for a problem.
