First of all, it's a matter of human psychology. And a matter of how much 
people are dumbed down.

Secondly, I have as an acquaintance a CTO of a successful (now former) startup, 
and he is a professional programmer, and he has worked with many platforms - 
both free and none-free. So he said that the iStuff was beating hands down 
other similar stuff from the point of view of user interface and convenience of 
use.
