I have already had a request for a --no-windowing-system option for
Octave, and I think it would be a good thing to have.  If this option
is provided, Octave would skip the calls that attempt to determine the
screen size and dpi and just use the defaults, same as now with
DISPLAY="" but without the warning.  Would you like to contribute a
patch to implement that feature?
