Just a quick reply: where do you see free codecs in Flash that can benefit from HW acceleration? Do you really think Flash would ever support free codecs...? Do you really think there are free codecs competitive enough with H.264 to be used as a replacement? Currently, I strongly believe the answers to all of those is 'no' and I doubt this would change for Flash.
