Re: Mathworks-hosted GPL'd software

I stand correctd.  I had written:

While first public release of GPL in February 1989 is in fact preceding
BSD by four months, apparently the MIT licence dates back to september
1985, release date of X9.  Both the GPL and BSD had predecessors that
were not however widely or publicly distributed, and about which I have
no details.
