Well I certainly feel my comments have been taken completely out of context.
I'm a lowly intern who doesn't make any decisions to determine what other
people use in my office. Sure I could go on some didactic crusade in my
small software department to try to get everyone to stop using Matlab, but
that would be unproductive, and given that this is a smaller business, its
unlikely we could finance your entire team (we haven't renewed our single
matlab license in several years due to the cost).

Anyhow, I just thought that you would all understand that when you are in
possession of a fully functional product, you don't just discard it because
you have access to a similar one that is still working on catching up.

Yes, you'd like me to contribute in whatever way I can. And I do, I report
bugs and ask questions so that you have a better idea what the average
octave user is going through. I don't have the money or the time to do what
you do, but if you'd like to pay ME, I'll certainly consider it.

As I said, I love Octave, I'll continue to use it, and yes it would be
awesome if you could have everything on your wish list fulfilled, but I'm
not in the position to do any of that for you.

Thanks for all the help I've received, but please stop asking me to stop
using Matlab and Windows (which I've become all to familiar with over the
years). It is rarely a plausible solution to my problems as I don't have a
choice as to what platform I program on or what programing languages my
colleagues use.

Good luck getting donations and whatnot.
