but seriously, do you think page rank will affect the order of the hit so
much that it would be serious ?

I agree with your (Robin's) point about titles etc - perhaps having a
choice first paragraph on the first page thinking of all the possible
search terms a person looking for that page would be thinking of.

(ref the previous mail showing page hit order variation depending on the
search term)

something like bengalinux is good because its centralized ("one stop
shop") but the name has a bias in it (wrt the OS) and like it or not most
people who would want to view/create bangla pages will probably be
running Bill's broken-door system.

I guess the goal is: somebody wants to set up bangla on their system
(linux/win/freeBSD,unix) and needs browsers/fonts/editors and it would be
nice to have it all together and easily found.

However, "soon" Linux distro's will probably ship those GPLd OT fonts,
(RH 8.0 supports bangla out of box, so they ship fonts right ?) and the
pango enabled browser will be there. WIn XP will soon ship with bangla
stuff (editors, spell check, browser support - IE6) so will this need for
a centralised "shop" be so relevant ?

Well how soon is soon right ?
