Obviously.  How was the backup done?  Same machine?

Same problem.

At least this one is not duplicity's.  With verify the source and target
need to be reversed, i.e --verify scp://ian... /home/data/...

Except for verify, everything should have worked as far as I can tell.
Please upgrade to 0.4.3 and try again.  It should be in the repositories
by now.  If not, download it from:

http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/duplicity/duplicity-0.4.3.tar.gz

If everything works then all is good.  If not, please run with the -v9
option (very verbose) and post the output from the command line to the
end of the run.  That will help us debug the problem.
