Follow-up Comment #6, task #7972 (project bibledit):

Hi Phil,

Currently the plans are to partially or fully implement your feature request,
in such a manner that it integrates into the current available workflow in
bibledit for integrating changes. And then to expand on that so as to satisfy
your needs.

It see that you request for an export function to GoogleDocs, but also note
that you already have got a way to do that somehow. Therefore it seems that
there is a greater need for change integration than for export to Google
Documents.

Focusing on change integration, then, currently the newer builds have the
following features already, that could be use in your scenario.

1. Import unstructured text.
2. Merge functionality.

My proposal is that the text from GoogleDocs, and indeed, any source, will be
imported through the function for importing unstructured text. Once that text
has been imported, it then can be merged into your existing project.

The following steps would need to be taken added for satisfying your needs:

1. Test the import unstructured text functionality if it works well with your
google document.
2. If the above test fails, then to expand the functionality of that import
routine.
3. Expand the merger with the option to merge change by change, and stop and
start at any time at any location.
4. Determine whether there is a need for handling footnotes and xrefs.
5. If the above is true, then to devise means to do that. Current proposal is
to remove the notes on export to google docs, replace them with placeholders,
then then later to allow to insert them again, all automatically.

How does the above sound to you?

Could you please find out point 1?

Regards,

Teus.
