Somehow not (yet :).

So I dug up all the old mails, and I slowly remembered... There's
been a second issue that libiberty is needed but the freelibiberty one
that is already in the FreeBSD ports doesn't suffice, so we need a
gnulibiberty one as well. (Unfortunately, libbfd relies on various
undocumented features of GNU libiberty.)

OK, with both, the libbfd and the gnulibiberty port, I'm able to
update the avarice port to the latest released version of AVaRICE.

OK, I'll do that as soon as the ports freeze is over. All the changes
needed should be around on that testbox already, so it ought to be
easy enough to just commit it directly from there to the FreeBSD CVS.

Now the good news: the entire toolchain works well under
FreeBSD/sparc64!

Tested so far:

. binutils
. gcc
. libc
. simulavr
. gdb
. avrdude
. avarice

This means there are neither byte-order nor 64-bit (host OS) issues in
our software. Ted, maybe you'd want to announce this on the
OpenAVR.org web site. ;-)
