True ;-)

I tried to look like that for obvious popularity-raising reasons, but I
won't pretend any more.
The above call was a safety (read: cowardice) option.

Since nobody answered within the 30 minutes allowed, I will select Python,
because it enables others to bring modules in any language they want, or
nearly, and to plug them. And, ahem, also because I believe I'll be able to
spit SOME code before my next incarnation.

First things first. Who will (is?) be the hands-on, chief architect,
delivering precise, delimited work orders to the contributors, scrutinizing
all levels of code, making sure the construction is solid, pushing people
to deliver, checking the quality of the inputs, making hard choices quickly
enough so the momentum is kept etc?

As everybody should know, there is no chief software architect. This of
course is a difficult situation, because none of the more experienced
developers who are reading this list seems to have enough availability (or
interest?) to seat on this vacant throne. Any candidates up there?
(30 minutes answering period just started, tic, tac...)

So, either we do nothing and wait (for Godot), or amateurs like me are going
to begin with a few experiments, and who knows, some real things might come
out of it. This reminds me of some quote about the Titanic being built by
professionals, and the Kon Tiki by amateurs...

I solemnly swear that I'll spend 2 days/week on this project for several
months as soon as I win the French Loto and I don't have to work for money
any more. Of course, a more experienced developer would probably work 3 to
10 times faster...

Kind regards,

Henri
