Perhaps you (or the ECMA working group members) would care to explain how
withholding timely information from the community and holding secret meetings
is supposed to build a better standard than other approaches (e.g. IETF, W3C,
freedesktop.org, etc) that are based on open mailing lists and the free
exchange of ideas?
And then perhaps you'd like to explain how such a standards group is
compatible with GNU's philosophy and ideals? And then explain why I would
pay a premium to have my moral's compromised in such a fashion (not to
mention my pocketbook), playing directly into Microsoft's hands?
Of course I refuse to pay. Anyone with any shred of Free Software morals
would. Becoming part of the problem will not solve the problem.
Cheers,
Rhys.
