OpenEXR-images-1.2.tar.gz, at http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/openexr/, contains 32 sample files. 15 of the files are photographs or CG images that cover high dynamic range, scan lines, tiles, multi-resolution and environment maps. The other 16 files contain test images that can be used to check if an application correctly handles data and display windows.
