Do any of you know of a LADSPA module, like oscillator that can play
back samples? Maybe a user definable wavetable module?

It depends on what you want to do with it, but when you look at linuxsampler, it is quite a bit of software... and it's not a ladpsa plugin but a client/server application.

now if it's just about playing one wave file in the middle of a piece of music I'm sure there's a plugin for this out there, though I could not find one on plugins.org.uk ... maybe I missed it.
