Follow-up Comment #28, bug #57553 (project octave):

@Hg200: This is definitely a big visual difference.  I believe it merits its
own bug report though.  Could you file a new bug report and include the script
and resulting images there?

I will comment more on the new bug report, but Octave seems to be doing the
more literal "interpolation" in that the colors smoothly transform.
