[monit] Processes are started but Monit doesn't automatically monitor them

Hi list,

I have been banging my head for some time. I have Monit configured to
monitor some processes. But when I check Monit's webpage, they appear
as not being monitored.

If I do: "sudo monit quit" followed by "sudo monit", then now Monit
monitors them as expected.

Where could that problem come from?

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 server edition and Monit package 4.8.1
