More information.  All this was taken from a run of
mlnet -allow_local_network true -verbosity \
      "mc connect net beb loc sp sm up unk share"
and I'm including the first mention of the file in that run:

It seems like something must be going wrong in the Donkey-specific
portion of the program, but I don't kow what.

The directory and files are owned by another uses with modes 755 and
655 respectively, but I can't upload files from incoming (which is
mlnet-writable) either.
