Sorry, no.

Surfing the web means opening a data channel (tcp-connection) from a
port >1024 at your side to port 80 at the server side. Thus the
connection is initiated by you and this is a thing, a NAT router can
handle.

But P2P-Clients need to connect to you without you or the router knowing
from which port the connection is initiated.

The problem of _every_ NAT-router is: if a connection attempt is made,
it does not know, to which of the many computers "behind" it has to
forward the packets.

If you have only one computer, then you "just" have to tell your
NAT-router (i.e. your cable modem) to forward _all_ packets to your
computer.

If you are not able to do so (which it seems, since your telnet session
to the configuration frontend hangs), then you are *totally out of
luck*.

Ever tried to contact Alcatel about a firmware upgrade?

If you download, _you_ contact the others, which is handled just fine by
your NAT-router in the cable modem.
