I think Jan didn't mean Francois _using_ LilyPond/Frescobaldi on a non-free OS.
Since there are official builds for these, that's obviously intended.
What he wanted to say is that he'd rather not mention their trademark in such 
an enthusiastic context.

But as Francois didn't make the impression that he is actually impressed by the 
OS, but by Frescobaldi, I wouldn't see this as a problem.

But Jan's suggestion for advocating free OS on LilyPond's website looks 
interesting.
