The first barf I get is in the Italian docs:

*** Undefined node `\paper variables for shifts and indents' in @ref (in  
out-www/notation/staff.texi l. 1857)

There's 2 '@ref{\paper variables for shifts and indents}' in staff.itely

I assume these are causing the problem.
