I feel your pain; I am perfectly happy on my Debian box ;). I am not a Windows user myself, but there are plenty of people in my working environment who are (and a few Macs). I'm trying to set them up to be able to work with me on some things.

I'll help however I can.

Well, since none of us is a Windows user, compiling the Python interface of igraph for Windows has always been a little bit of pain in the neck. I'll probably try VS 2008 Express Edition in VirtualBox when I have some free time and see if it works.
