I don't know if there exists an active effort with Octave to support
distributed computing.
Any such project could not go wrong examining what netsolve
has done, is doing and will be able to do in the future. There
has already been a dissertation produced as part of the project
(casanova), and at least 2 MS theses (seymour, phillips).
