No, he has a point here.  Using different, though synonym, words for
the same entity runs the risk of confusing the reader.  You will see
that I significantly reduced the number of synonyms in the
description, and instead made a point of using the same wording over
and over again, precisely for that reason: to make it easier for the
reader to connect the dots.

Actually, I used prerequisites because most of the description already
did to begin with.  All I did was throw away the few instances of
"target".
