Some more info.
If I associate .txt files with emacs.exe and doubleclick on my bäst.txt file all works well.
If I associate .txt files with emacsclientw.exe and doubleclick on my bäst.txt file the ä is displayed incorrect in the minibuffer when I save the file.
I have reproduced the problem on three different computers.
