gnuserv will use 127.0.0.1
The loopback adapter is not necessary for 127.0.0.1 to work, that
special address is handled internally by the TCP/IP stack. The
loopback adapter is only really useful for testing and in certain
types of clustering setup. So the advice you have received to
install the loopback adapter is faulty.
