Might be.
One idea I've been thinking of is to separate the user API to a different
package. GRT for user-level stuff and GRT-CORE for the engine. This way we
can overload generics that "do the right thing" for user level API's, while
retaining the strictly typed functions in GRT-CORE.

Ok. I might get something done this weekend, but it may also turn out to be
a week or two before I can get anything done.
