It's definitely a cvs bug, but I'm not sure whether it is on the
server side. I use cvs client 1.11.5 (compiled by myself) on a Linux
box, and it works without problems (besides the 30s delay at the end).

I had to upgrade. The old cvs version I used previously always
hanged.
