I dug into this some more, and I am not able to replicate your
problem with the raw capture that you provided.
The checksums on the RMC fail, so the date/time is not read by
gpsd. Without a valid capture I can't test the date issue.
Do I remember that you said you edited the capture file? If you did
so you failed to fix the checksums to match.
