Not a surprise. From your capture:
$GPRMC,014956.945,A,0000.1228,N,00000.8497,W,001.4,103.0,221099,,,A*7B
The "A" in field three says the GPS is happy with the fix. The
221099 in field 10 is the DDMMYY.
Notice it is reports 11 October 1999. That would be correct for
a simple GPS week rollover problem.
I'll play with your capture a bit, there is likely a workaround
possible,

The capture was fine. But it shows your GPS is pretty sick.
