Many external GPs antennas are active antennas.  They need power from
the GPS to function and thus use a little current.  A lot off GPS's
detect when the current is zero and flag the user that the antenna
failed.  I have a few GPS with external antennas that do that.

The same results and also gpspipe output I got  then I put antenna in "parking garage".
