Quiet round here!

Hi all!

Gosh, it's gone quiet around here, hasn't it?? For my part, I've spent the
last couple of weeks getting into a new job, having been made a victim of
the economy yet again. Well, that's my excuse anyway :)

Okay, we kind of left off after the Charter thing. Find attached my attempt
at such a charter (don't worry, it's text/plain :). Any comments from people
are much appreciated - I don't consider this to be in any shape or form a
finished product, there are probably a lot of things that need to be added,
and maybe people disagree with some parts of it. I think, though, it's
important to get something like this in place quickly so that we can start
getting more people involved. I would also like to see another two documents
- I think we'll need a FAQ, the 'whys and wherefores' of what we're doing,
and also a Press Release at some point, so that people know that this list
exists and where it is, etc. I'm happy to put stuff like this up on my site
if needed.

On the subject of the charter, this is only intended as the 'ground rules'
(as it were) for discussion on the list. For example, I state that one of
the aims should be creation of a Free Software organisation in the UK - I
haven't stated when it should be set up, how it should be set up, etc -
that's beyond the remit of the document, so don't mistake it for what it
isn't :)

But, apart from that, comments please!!

Cheers,

Alex

PS. Happy Bank Holiday and whatnot too :)
