Hi,
i've just started doing a CVS package for debian once again.
The "thumbs" dir gives me headaches.
On a multi-user system this causes serious security problems.
Doing "chmod 777" is not an option (this will allow anybody to pass
broken data to enigma, and needs a thoroughly tested image loader!)
But using SGID games isn't much better, too.
So i still favour one of the two following options:
- storing thumbnails in .enigma/thumbs. the space waste is minimal
for most installations
- pregenerating thumbnails (certainly better if you want enigma to stay
on knoppix. ;-)
OTOH i havn't looked at how much this is used yet...
right now i'm trying to get a working enigma version, i get a segfault
in video.cc:317 i need to sort out.
Greetings,
Erich Schubert
