That seems like a leap of unfaith.

What needs to be checked here is practical -- that it will work
in practice as reliably as our current practice.  This doesn't
require any special knowledge, just careful attention to possible
ways things can go awry, from people who won't overlook problems
in their eagerness to make the change.
