What should I look for after successfully running
`save-buffers-kill-emacs' on all instances of Emacs?
This beats me. Maybe some other memory consuming process being
launched and surviving the killing of Emacs. Are you running top with
processes ordered by memory consumption?
No, I was not running top when I did the measurements, but I was
running a lot of processes. At one point, I thought that Firefox was
the culprit, but it appears not. I don't know where to go from here,
excepting onto another machine. At least, no one else sees an Emacs
problem, which is good.
