Using the MOSIX patches to the linux kernel (www.mosix.org) it
is possible for several friends who use the same road-runner POS,
for instance, to arrange their machines in a peer-to-peer load
balancing configuration.

A central DotGUN MOSIX configuration server could be set up by
anyone (with a fat pipe and the willingness to use it -- perhaps
some grad student at an I2 school will read this and be inspired?)

the glue to arrange node log-ins and notifications of updated configuration
files is relatively trivial, as such things go. I am working on
such glue for use internally at my university and when it is ready
to go I will share it.
