i don't know about anyone else, but i seem to lose track between all the
"Services", "Frameworks", "Platforms" etc. maybe we should draw up a
clear set of definitions as used by dotGNU?
Feel free to propose some definitions :-)
the following is off the top of my head and merely a proposal:
"Platform" refers exclusively to the CLR. it encompases pnet, not pnetlib.
"Services" refers to a collection of classes (and associated protocols)
that perform a particular task. virtual identities would be a service.
pnetlib is a collection of services.
"Web Services" are services accessible via an HTTP based protocol.
"Framework" refers to a set of Services and a Platform. i.e. classes,
protocols and platform. thus, pnet + pnetlib + virtual identities would
form a framework.
in this way, the meta project is the dotGNU Framework.
